Healthy vitamin filled turmeric shot

Even though the worst flu season is over, we found ourselves snotty and coughing last weekend. Sick of that, we immediately made ourselves this shot and believe it or not, it cured us. Maybe it was some other factors, maybe it was the fact that we got some well needed rest. But - there is no denying this shot is not only delicious and damn healthy. It's got more vitamins than the alphabet.

Our local fruit store (yes, we have a local fruit store and yes it is amazing) sold turmeric, and if you believe everything they say about turmeric it literally cures cancer. And who are we to say no to that?

And even if it doesn't prevent cancer, it still gives anything you put it in a wonderful boost of colour and loads of flavour as well.

A given when fighting the flu is ginger in all forms, it gives an amazing taste and sting to the drink.

So next time you feel the flu coming don't hesitate to try this shot, and please feel free to try it without a flu, it was damn delicious!

  • 1 clementine

  • 2 oranges

  • Fresh mint leaves (5-10)

  • 2 cm x 4 cm piece of turmeric

  • 4 cm x 6 cm piece of ginger

  1. Start by peeling and grating the ginger and the turmeric into a bowl 
  2. Squeeze the oranges and the clementine into the bowl
  3. Add mint leaves to taste
  4. Mix everything in a blender or with a stickmixer until smooth and even
  5. Enjoy!
